Deposit timing

Direct deposit dates are not the same as bank posting times.

Members compare IRS sent dates, bank behavior, prepaid cards, refund transfers, checks, and returned deposits.

Useful timeline terms

  • DDD: Direct deposit date shown after refund approval or transcript movement.
  • Refund sent: IRS says it sent the refund to the bank or mailed a check.
  • Pending deposit: Bank or card provider may show a pending entry before funds are available.
  • Mailed check: A paper check timeline can differ from a direct deposit timeline.
  • Returned deposit: Bank rejection can create a new mailing or reissue timeline.

What to post

Include DDD, bank or card type in general terms, refund transfer use, whether fees are taken out, and whether the IRS says sent. Do not post routing numbers, account numbers, or screenshots from your bank account.

Bank posting varies. A community timeline can show patterns, but only the IRS and financial institution can confirm your specific payment.
