- An IP PIN is a six-digit number used to help verify identity when filing.
- Incorrect or missing IP PINs can reject e-filed returns or delay paper returns.
- The IRS says IP PINs are known only to you and the IRS.
- Never post an IP PIN or send it to another member.
How to use this thread
- Post whether you opted in, lost a CP01A, e-file rejected, or need to retrieve a current-year IP PIN. Keep the actual PIN private.
