• Account transcript: most useful for refund movement, transaction codes, cycle code, and refund issue code.
• Return transcript: shows many line items from the filed return, but it is not the main place people watch refund codes.
• Wage and income transcript: shows income documents reported to the IRS and often updates later than people expect.
